IID Accepted to Join FIRST, One of World’s Foremost Internet Security Response Organizations
Boeing Corporation and AusCERT Sponsor IID Appointment
TACOMA, Washington – August 12, 2010 – IID (Internet Identity), a provider of technology and services that help organizations secure Internet presence, today announced it has been accepted to join the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), a recognized global leader in Internet security incident response. By becoming a FIRST member, IID will be collaborating with some of the world’s foremost security experts, and have access to unique intelligence and perspectives on the latest Internet security threats. IID will be able to contribute its latest insights and operational expertise in assisting with widespread cyber threats.
FIRST is a non-profit that has been resolving worldwide computer system and network security vulnerabilities associated with the Internet since 1990. Since being founded, its members have resolved an almost continuous stream of security-related attacks and incidents including handling thousands of vulnerabilities affecting millions of users around the world.

In order to join FIRST, prospects must undergo an extensive vetting process. This includes being sponsored by FIRST.org members to be considered for membership. Boeing and AusCERT, Australia’s Computer Emergency Response Team, sponsored IID.
